Gaudez Adrien Etienne (1845-1902) - The 16th Century Ironworker
The 16th century Ironworker, an important bronze sculpture with an original brown patina, it is signed GAUDEZ on the terrace and bears the inscription Ferronier XVIe siècle on the base. Old 19th century cast iron. Weight 38 kg Adrien Etienne GAUDEZ (1845 -1902), he entered the fine arts in 1862 and began at the salon two years later. At the salon his bronzes are few in number, however it seems that many works were cast in bronze. In 1883, in a sale probably organized by GAUDEZ himself, there were 2 copies of the 16th century Ironworker in 50 cm.
