Barbedienne, Diane De Poitiers, Clock And Candelabra Set, Bronze And Marble, 19th Century
The clock in griotte marble with gilded bronze decoration in the Louis XVI style with a bust of Diane de Poitiers after Jean Goujon (1510-1567) in patinated bronze on a gilded pedestal.
The dial signed Barbedienne, the bust signed F Barbedienne Fondeur and mechanical reduction stamp Collas.
The candelabra in marble and patinated bronze.
They light with 3 candles each and a heron or ibis at the top.
No signature on the candelabra;
The clock movement, signed Ch Boye, works, it strikes the hours and half hours (needs to be calibrated by a small revision at the watchmaker).
Very good condition overall.
Objects of good size and very decorative.
Napoleon III period around 1860.
