Small Anthropomorphic Statuette - Kulango Culture, Ivory Coast And Ghana - Circa 1900
Small ANTHROPOMORPHE STATUTE with bent legs, her feet forming a trapezoidal base, characteristic of the culture.
Her hands, with their incised fingers, rest on her knees, which are themselves folded over a bulging belly with a protruding umbilicus.
Its stylised face is punctuated by two small protuberances on the sides, referring to its ears or short plaits.
It probably represents an ancestor.
