Antique miniature ring, mid-19th century, French work. Ring composed of a miniature portrait on vellum, under glass in a closed setting in rose gold. The miniature represents a young woman in portrait, wearing a dress, and a choker. The miniature is in a surround decorated with openwork giardinetti in silver, set with rose-cut diamonds and ruby cabochons. The bottom of the portrait is enhanced with a silver bow set with rose-cut diamonds and a ruby cabochon. The band of the ring is sober in 14 carat rose gold (585 thousandths).
