Splendid jewel of remarkable beauty, painted in oil on copper with extreme finesse in all details
It depicts one of the most fascinating scenes in the Gospels, namely the appearance of the Archangel Gabriel in the presence of the Virgin. to announce the Great Event of the incarnation of Christ, the son of God, in his womb.
The Divine Messenger blesses her with his right hand, while with his left hand he holds the lily, symbol of purity, around which a spiral cartouche bears the message "Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you"
The White Dove of the Holy Spirit, with a ray of light from Heaven, carries out the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary.
It is a particularly graceful work, painted in a deliberately joyful manner to please private clients and of contained dimensions suitable for domestic devotion.

The quality of this copper, painted with a light hand and first-rate pictorial technique, places it directly in the renowned workshop of the Flemish Master of Antwerp Frans Francken II, who managed to express himself with a chromatic range of very bright colors combined with magnificent light effects.

This feature makes the composition very pleasant and attractive.

The painting, despite its small size, is rich in details and stands out from similar works for an elaborate context with a very careful description of furnishings and architecture.

We underline, in addition to the liveliness of the palette, the excellent state of conservation which allows a perfect reading of the work in every detail.
