Silver stew spoon, double-lined and spearhead model, the spatula is emblazoned with a coat of arms crossed by howling feline muzzles supported by two lions under a count's crown. -Toulouse Mint Department 1st charge mark, crowned date letter "M" from 1768-1774. - "horse's head" discharge mark for large work from 1768-1774. -Toulouse hallmark from 1773 under fleur-de-lys. - Partial Master Goldsmith's mark "BV" for Vinsac, Bernard, goldsmith in Toulouse (*1707, †1787) or "RV" for Vinsac, Raymond, goldsmith in Toulouse (known as Vinsac fils aîné). - weight 204 gr, length 31.6cm. Very good used condition, slight scars from time, such as scratches and rubbing. Vinsac, a great dynasty of goldsmiths in Toulouse for at least three generations, starting with Bernard (*1707, †1787), who was accepted as a goldsmith in 1734-1735. His three sons followed: Raymond (*1742, †1781), master goldsmith in 1773-1781, nicknamed Vinsac fils aîné; Jean (*16.7.1745, †before 1807), master goldsmith in Toulouse from 1774, nicknamed Vinsac cadet; and Claude-Dominique (*1749, †1825) who settled in Paris. In the next generation, Marie-Joseph, Jean's son, was a goldsmith in Toulouse, (*19.7.1784, †after 1815), after having been settled in Paris for part of his life.
