Rare antique Véramine or Varamin from the 19th century in hand-knotted wool in Persia, Iran. This piece measures 156 cm wide by 242 cm long. The condition is in good condition to very good condition depending on its age. The field of this carpet is decorated with fourteen cartouches enclosing a floral decoration. Indeed, many stylized flowers are used to give rhythm to this piece. The nuances are fresh, due to the use of natural shades. On an ivory background, the orange rust rubs shoulders with a midnight blue, supported by the chestnut color. The wide border is made up of three braids of the same widths, very stylized carnation flowers in the center and a symbol of eternity on each side. The city of Varamin (Veramine) is located near the Iranian capital Tehran. Hand-knotted rugs are tightly woven, using very high quality wool and dyes.
