18th Century Plate / Nevers Earthenware
This fine 18th century earthenware plate, from Nevers, is distinguished by its stylized floral motifs in dark brown with touches of orange and a subtle green border. The artisans of Nevers were renowned for their mastery of opaque enamels and decorations influenced by Italian and Oriental styles. The wavy and raised shape of the edge of the plate is typical of Nevers productions. Despite its age, the plate is very well preserved.
