Pair of small overlay and combed/marbled glass vases, the outer surface decorated with turquoise-green and white wave and streak motifs, the interior in milky white opaline glass, the flared neck finished with a flat rim.

At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, art glassmakers developed a marked taste for marbled and combed glass effects. Achieved by combining several layers of overlay glass and then drawing the colored pigments while hot, these white opaline vases, enhanced with turquoise tones, create fascinating undulating movements inspired by the marine world and Art Nouveau.
