A major sculptor and ceramist of the Art Nouveau period, Léon Kann was one of the emblematic collaborators of the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres and the Siot-Decauville firm. Deeply inspired by plant-based forms and organic lines, he excelled in the creation of small decorative art objects in which the decoration of fresh flowers — here the violet — appears to bloom naturally on the surface of the bronze, perfectly embodying the grace of the 1900 style.
