Restorations.

Created in the mid-18th century under the patronage of Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour, the Vincennes Manufactory (future Royal Manufactory of Sèvres) established itself as the pinnacle of French soft-paste porcelain refinement. Covered “à bouillon” shaped pieces, garnished with their lids and adorned with hand-enameled floral decorations within gilt reserves, constituted the quintessential ceremonial gift offered at court and to the kingdom’s highest dignitaries.

Our covered écuelle and saucer, part of the purest tradition of Vincennes and Sèvres production, testifies to the virtuosity of the painters and gilders, combining the delicacy of the floral motifs with the brilliance of the roi blue borders enhanced with gold
