"Pair Of Bronze Candlesticks With Putti 19th Century"
Excellent pair of two-light candlesticks in burnished bronze, crafted using the lost-wax casting process. The candlesticks rest on painted wooden bases imitating marble, with bronze lion feet. Below are three kneeling putti holding a shield adorned with garlands of flowers and fruit. On the shield rests a standing putto, his hands clutching two branches that end in the candlestick. An object of great decorative power and refined elegance. Italian manufacture, Renaissance style, second half of the 19th century.
