Biography
Gustave François Morin (1809-1886) was a French painter, born and died in Rouen. A student of Léon Cogniet, he specialized in genre and history scenes. He exhibited his works at the Paris Salon from 1833 to 1869 and was appointed a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1863. In 1858, he became director of the Rouen Academy of Drawing and Painting, then curator of the Rouen Museum in 1865.
