Il provient des dépendances d'un château médiéval de la région du Val de Loire.

Ce coffre a subit de nombreuses restaurations d'usage ce qui est courant pour cette époque.
Le plateau est en partie d'origine .
On y a rapporté une planche au milieu et les 2 traverses sur les côtés.
