Marie Antoinette Commode
Important ceremonial chest of drawers ordered by Marie-Antoinette from the cabinetmakers Joseph Stöckel (1743-1802) and Guillaume Benneman (1750-1811), opening with two doors, rich ornamentation of gilded bronzes decorated with friezes and acanthus leaves and foliage . Pretty central mask, but also on the sides, spinning top legs, white Carrara marble top. Inside we discover six drawers, original locks and keys, early 20th century and of very good quality.
