Beach scene by Pierre Pruvost oil on panel signed lower right, format with frame, 62cm x 48cm, carved wooden frame. Pierre Pruvost (born in Amiens on February 15, 1921 and died in Antibes on February 8, 2008) is a French painter, who obtained the Fénéon prize in 1951, and the same year the Abd-el-Tif prize, which allowed him to reside for two years in Algeria where he painted a lot, notably in Kabylia, in Béjaïa (Bougie at the time), in Tipaza, and in the Algerian south; recognized colorist painter, member of the Salon d'Automne.
