Monumental Chocolatière, Mons 1767, Sterling Silver, Jean-baptiste Delattre flag

Object description :

"Monumental Chocolatière, Mons 1767, Sterling Silver, Jean-baptiste Delattre"
Very large and sumptuous LouisXV period chocolaté pot  in sterling  silver. Completely in the great Mons tradition of glorious Baroque jugs, it is richly decorated with twisted movements over its entire surface and with a very pretty pouring spout and a finely chiseled molten silver fretel. As is customary with a chocolatière , its fretel unscrews to allow the installation of a moussoir or mixing stick which should help to thoroughly mix the exquisite chocolate-flavored beverage. With its 37,5 cm height, it is among the three largest Mons jugs that have passed through my hands. It weighs a very impressive 1215 grams .
