Large Marian Reliquary - 19th Century flag

Object description :

"Large Marian Reliquary - 19th Century"
The relics placed by the sisters who make them are not always a logical choice or construction. Here, on the contrary, our beautiful object of devotion is entirely devoted to the Glory of the Virgin. Our reliquary thus offers, in its center, relics of a garment, the veil and the burial of the Virgin Mary. Surrounding him are relics from his family circle.
Firstly her parents Saint Anne and Saint Joachim as well as her husband Saint Joseph. We also find her cousin Saint Elisabeth and her husband Saint Zacharie as well as their son Saint John the Baptist. Also present are a plot of the “stone on which Our Lady of La Salette sat” (appearance of the Virgin) as well as, finally, a final plot of the house of Loreto which according to tradition is the house of Nazareth where the Annunciation took place and where Jesus lived.
A Napoleon III wooden frame, carved and gilded, decorated with rockeries and flowers, accommodates a large glazed oculus, symmetrically presenting a series of twelve locations for relics on a red velvet background.
On the back are traces of a wax seal.
