Still Life: Coffee Pot With Lemons C. De Préval Circa 1900
Lovely still life signed C de Préval from the late 19th century - early 20th century. This work represents a coffee maker, a cup and its saucer, a white porcelain sugar bowl with floral decoration, two lemons on a white tablecloth, almond green woodwork in the background. Signed C de Préval for Christiane de Préval, French painter, known in particular for interior scenes. Pretty bursts of light on the porcelain. A small restoration to the canvas visible only on the back of the work. Source of E. Bénézit: Painter born in Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées) on September 20, 1876 (French School) Student of Baschet. Exhibited at the Salon of French Artists, since 1911; silver medal in 1922. Lacquered ogee wood frame in tones matching the painting, dimensions: 68.5 cm x 53 cm. Chassis dimensions: 53 x 38 cm. Dimensions at sight: 52 x 36.5 cm. Note: beautiful composition in the style of the 18th century. Delivery: €20 for mainland France.
