Kpm - Madeleine Reading Porcelain Plate
Artist: Manufacture Royale De Porcelaine De Berlin
Porcelain plaque representing Madeleine reading, after the painting by Correggio, Germany circa 1880. Bears the manufacturer's mark on the back.
The Saint is lyin, leaning with her right arm to support her head, she is shown reading holding the work placed open in her left forearm. Her bust is bare, her long blond-red hair, surrounded by a blue tunic fixed in her hair covering her stomach and her legs. On her right side: the vase of perfume, the one that she poured on the feet of Christ at Simon the Pharisee, and it is also the precious spikenard with which she anointed Christ at Simon the Leper and which prefigured the perfumes of the tomb .
