Market scene in Rome, oil on canvas 63 cm x 57 cm, with its carved wooden frame: 73 cm x 77 cm, by Hendrick MOMMERS, Holland 17th century. Painter of the Golden Age of Dutch painting, Hendrick Mommers was born in 1623 in Haarlem, he died in Amsterdam in 1693. In 1647 he was a member of the Guild of Saint Luke in Haarlem. He traveled to Italy and many of his paintings are market scenes from that country, like the painting we are offering.
