Vase designed by Gaetano Pesce for Caffe Florian in 1995, created on the occasion of the G. Pesce exhibition at Caffe Florian during the Venice Biennale in 1995.
The vase has the shape of the head of the Lion of Saint Marc it also has the Italian text "Toast to Venice" molded on its edge.
Each Goto vase is one of a kind, hand cut and made from soft cast resin in different colors. The manufacturing process makes each vase different, unique: a mass-produced piece of art, but unique because of this process. Art within everyone's reach, the credo of this designer
Text on the vase translated into French "A toast to Venice, so that it becomes a place of modern life, of modern behavior, of progress, of joys, of optimism, discoveries, confidence in the future, courage, openness to the culture of the contemporary world... and not a place of prejudice, protection, conservatism, immobility, soporific museum-cult of the past, reactionary example, desperate place for future generations, full of torpor, provincialism, silent and nostalgic companies... Let's get rid of this mask which pretends that Venice is a space to live in.
The price announced is for a single vase
