KENDO HELMET
Japan, Edo period (1603-1868)
Wrought iron, plant fibres, cloth and leather
H. 26 cm, L 14.5 cm

Part of the men's facial protection, this mask consists of a wrought-iron grid mounted on a structure made of plant fibres covered in cloth and leather.

Kendo is a martial art practised with wooden or bamboo swords.
