Chassis dimensions 33 X 41 cm or 6F frame dimensions 46 62 70 08 91 fredericchavanne@hotmail.com Georges Capgras is a French painter born in Joinville-le-Pont on May 16, 1866 and died in Paris on August 5, 1947. Student of Georges Callot, William Bouguereau, Gustave Moreau and Émile Charles Dameron, he exhibited in 1899 at the Salon of French Artists, at the Luxembourg Museum as an army painter in 1918, at the Galerie Allard (1920) and at the Galerie Georges Petit (1925) as well as, among others, in São Paulo (1897), Tokyo or Copenhagen. His works are kept at the San Francisco Museum of Fine Arts, the Army Museum, the Dijon Museum of Fine Arts as well as the Paris City Hall. We also owe him the decoration of the royal bedroom, the ceilings and panels of the Abedin Palace for King Fouad I as well as the decoration of the music room of the Gallia liner.
