Bracelet of sentiment* or old mourning composed of a braided hair bracelet, the clasp in solid 18-carat gold (eagle's head hallmark) enhanced with turquoise blue enamel, presenting in the central medallion a braiding of hair under glass, vintage mid-19th century. This bracelet is in good condition and is of remarkable quality. This is a very fashionable hair job in the 19th century. Please note: some accidents on the braided bracelet, micro-scratches on the gold, slight wear over time, see photos. * In the 19th century there was a fashion in France which consisted of wearing jewelry made with or containing the hair of a loved one. It could be the hair of a deceased person, then it was mourning jewelry, or the hair of a living person that was worn for love or to feel them closer.
