Jacques Nervat painted mainly landscapes in Charente -Maritime, in Perigord and Provence. He also executed numerous charcoal drawings and appeared at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon National Indépendant.
Several special exhibitions were organized in Paris in 1932, 1934, 1936 and 1938. He is also present in the collections of the Musée de la Rochelle.
