Measurements: In Frame H 75 x W 63 / Canvas 50 x 40 cm

Roberto Masi is considered an important exponent of Italian Primitivism. He began his activity as a painter in 1962 by painting small fragments of a horse or a house. Since then Masi has embarked on a path that has led him to develop a highly personal style. Masi's world is in antithesis to the expressionistic world.
Roberto Masi, was born in Florence in 1940 in a poor neighborhood on the right bank of the Arno River. In 1962 he took his high school diploma in Electro-Communications and then enrolled in the University of Economics and Business. But after two years the strong impulse for Art returned and he began to frequent first artistic circles then directly the studios of painters in his city including Pietro Annigoni, Enzo Pregno, and Antonio Bueno. His meeting with Professor Pilade Giorgetti was decisive for his inner development and definitive insertion into the Florentine artistic environment. He attended the free academy of Nude at the Florence Academy of Art.In 1970 he attended the art group "Segno rosso" which materialized there with an exhibition in 1972 at the Il Moro art studio in Florence, the group's headquarters.
