"17th Century Engraving Jean-baptiste Verduc Period Frame By Drevet And Charpentier"
This engraving is from the 17th century and its frame is original. This is the portrait of Jean-Baptiste Verduc, doctor of medicine. Jean-Baptiste Verduc was born in Toulouse. A doctor of medicine, he was said to have been a “man full of candor and charity”. We owe him numerous works published and republished several times between 1693 and 1727: the Treatise on Surgery Operations, a New Osteology, the Pathology of Surgery, the Maistre en Chirurgie... This portrait was engraved by Pierre Drevet for the work octavo published in 1693 by Laurent d'Houry: The operations of surgery. Printer Eugène Charpentier. You will note that a 17th century frame fits this superb engraving, we guarantee its age. The margin has not been calculated for this frame, hence the irregularities that can be seen in particular on the rear cardboard. Missing to report on the frame, small slots and on the engravings, some traces of stitching and lack of margin. The work is sold uncleaned, unrestored. For the condition, please detail the photos.
