"Peynaud Jean-simon Vase On Baluster Shape Heel Signed"
Baluster-shaped vase on Jean Simon Peynaud heel with autumnal decoration in opal glass, of good size in tones of yellow and green; very nice work around 1910. JS. Peynaud (1869-1952) is a master glassmaker from Bordeaux who worked at the JULES VIEILLARD factory, he produces common pieces but also shapes, in the style of Amédée de Caranza, whose workshops he probably shared before creating his own company. During the Art Nouveau period, he put his artistic sense to the service of beautiful pieces of glassware in the spirit of the Nancy School. We find vases, cups, soliflores, bottles, boxes, candy boxes, opal glass lamp bases, frosted, acid-etched, enameled or painted decorations from him. He is a rare, complete artist and one to discover
