Kwoma pottery collected in the Washkuk hills area in Papua New Guinea, involved in a fertility cult linked to the yam harvest, and used as a ceremonial flute. The shape of this pottery is reminiscent of the yam itself, a sacred tuber. Terracotta entirely sculpted and showing stylized faces throughout.
