Kwoma pottery collected in the Washkuk hills area in Papua New Guinea, involved in a fertility cult linked to the yam harvest, and used as a ceremonial flute. The shape of this pottery is reminiscent of the yam itself, a sacred tuber. Terracotta entirely sculpted and showing stylized faces throughout. Engraved terracotta sold with a presentation base. 12.5 cm x 5.5 cm / €250 base and shipping costs included.
