Magnificent wooden sculpture by Auguste Guénot, co-founder of the Society of Southern Artists. Auguste Guénot, French sculptor, was born on October 25, 1882 in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) Son of a master cabinetmaker father, he began his apprenticeship in the workshop paternal and perfected his skills with various artisans. In 1895, he was enrolled at the School of Fine Arts, then in 1899 he went to Paris. Returning to Toulouse, he was exempted from military service due to an accident. He left with his family for Paris at the end of 1919. He participated in the International Exhibitions of Decorative Art, the Colonial Exhibition of 1931 and the International Exhibition of 1937 Auguste Guénot died on April 25, 1966 in Versailles (Yvelines)
