Paul Michel Dupuy (1869-1949) Scene of life in Manceau Park (grande allée) Oil on canvas signed lower right and dated 1944 Dimension: 60 x 81 cm Dimension with frame: 80 x 101 cm The painter, native of Pau, a student of Léon Bonnat, began his classical career in Paris, he exhibited at the salon every year from 1897. He became a member of the jury and was classified out of competition. A very good colorist, he owes a lot to the impressionist. This luminous touch that we find in our painting means that it is today in numerous museums including the Musée du Luxembourg and the Petit-Palais as well as in numerous fine arts museums, among others, in Philadelphia, Sydney, Pau , Saint-Étienne, Bourges, Vierzon or Roubaix. The canvas Luxembourg is at the Senate Palace and Boatmen at Port Henri-Quatre at the Petit-Palais. The Ministry of Agriculture features the decorative panel Le Blé and the decoration of the large living room.
