"Shako Officer Of The 100th Line Infantry Regiment Model 1806"
The body of the shako consists of felt 20 cm high. It is covered by a cap of waxed cowhide, with a diameter of 24 cm, folded over the felt of 2.5 cm. This folded part is covered with a gold braid woven in the shape of a dice. At the bottom a 3.3 cm wide velvet bourdalou is sewn from the felt. Visor in strong patent cow leather, with three vertical strips in relief in the center. The interior of the shako is reinforced with paper plus a base of 5.5 cm high with remaining white silk. Gilded brass plaque stamped in relief and cut in the shape of a crowned imperial eagle holding the spindle of Jupiter in its claws. It is placed on a rectangular base with the number “100”; model 1804-1806.The cockade placed above the plate is made of white woven thread on the outside then red and blue in the center with an eagle button and a golden braid.The chinstrap is made up of a strap in sheepskin lined with velvet and mounted with a series of scales of decreasing width, in gilded brass. Rosette stamped with a five-pointed star and around a single thread stamped in relief, diameter 4.1 cm. Half-spherical pompom in gold thread diameter 5 cm, thickness 3 cm. Overall good condition (object over 200 years old) with remaining gilding, old repair of the felt on the left side, bourdalou velvet with tears.
