Antique Painting Bamboccianti School Of 17th Century flag

Object description :

"Antique Painting Bamboccianti School Of 17th Century"
COD: 11040
Antique Italian painting from the 17th century. Oil artwork on canvas depicting a splendid genre scene called bambocciante, this because it belongs to the pictorial school developed in Rome under Pieter Van Laer known as il bamboccio for its childish appearance. This school was joined by Flemish, Dutch and Italian painters active in Rome in that period who portrayed popular scenes of common life often in a satirical key. Even in our painting we find these elements with characters intent on playing or dancing among the ruins of ancient Rome. Note the sweetness and quality with which some details were painted, such as the dogs in the center of the composition. Non-coeval frame in lacquered and gilded wood, with some signs of aging (see photo). Painting that has undergone restoration with relining, replacement of the frame and restoration of color in some places, overall in a good state of conservation. Sight size H 29 x W 41 cm.
