"C. Masson "lion Devouring A Buffalo" In Bronze"
"Lion devouring a buffalo head" bronze after Clovis Edmond Masson (1838-1913) French animal sculptor who was a student of Barye, he exhibited at the Paris salons from 1867 to 1881. Many of his works are preserved in the French museums. His most famous commission was that of the King of Siam for he made the horse for his equestrian statue. this bronze is signed on the terrace and bears the words "salon des beaux arts".
