Dragon, Hongshan, Mongolia flag

Object description :

"Dragon, Hongshan, Mongolia "
beautiful stone dragonZhulong  some lacks  on the outside edge  and broken reglued
Literally meaning "dragon-pig", the zhulong is a magical creature consisting of a serpentine body wrapped around an orifice, and ending in a pig's head topped by two erect ears, and a pair of eyes . round and with a flat snout streaked with wrinkles. This hybrid being reflects a society of breeders and farmers, hence this crossbreeding of the pig and the snake. Pig bones were found buried near humans at Hongshan burial sites, suggesting the animal had ritual significance. It is also possible that this form is the oldest representation of "dragons"
