Rondel daggers are quite rare on the market. This one, because of the shape of its blade, seems to me a little later than the 15th century. It is probably a slightly later model, which can reasonably be dated to the 16th century.
The size is impressive, clearly greater than the small models worn with town clothes. Clearly, this dagger was designed to be used.
The patina and general appearance of the weapon are completely homogeneous, and I chose to keep the piece in its discovered state without cleaning it.
BLADE: It is a 3-sided blade, the two edges of which come together to form a solid and sharp point. Of course, we see marks of oxidation.
Length of the blade = 31.4 cm, width at the guard 2.7 cm, thickness at the guard 11 mm
THE RONDELS: They are made of oxidized iron, and decorated on their edge with fine oblique grooves.
GRIP : It is twisted, made of wood covered with dark leather that has hardened over time.

Beautiful, homogeneous piece, just as we like to see them.
