- Goya made the first print of this series of 80 engraved plates himself, then, for fear of being disturbed by the Inquisition, illegated all the plates to the king, in exchange for a lifetime pension for his son - - All prints which will follow are carried out by the royal administration, this one dates from 1914, exact dating thanks to the watermark of the paper used, which is of a portrait of the artist in the hat, visible against the light -
