Oil on canvas representing a view of the port of Hamburg, by Oskar Frey (1883-1966), German landscape and animal painter.
Signed lower right, located on the back on the frame.
Good condition.
Original frame (wear marks).
Dimensions outside frame : 63 x 48 cm.
Dimensions with frame : 80.5 x 65.5 cm.
Oskar Frey, born in 1883 in Stuttgart-Cannstadt and died in 1966 in Ebingen, studied at the Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts between 1908 and 1918. He was a student of the famous impressionist and plein air painter Christian Landenberger, as well as by Robert von Haug and Poetzelberger.
His works are present in numerous private and public collections, notably at the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart and at the Kunstsammlung du Zollernalbkreis. In 2011 his paintings were exhibited at the exhibition entitled "Schwäbischer impressionismus" in Murrhardt
