Royal red marble : The Rouge Royal marble quarry is located in Hautmont in Belgium. It is a crystalline limestone with organisms and shell fragments in a fine pinkish to beige paste. Bright red in color, this marble is characterized by the presence of white calcite flames. Widely used in furniture and decoration. It is found in particular at the castles of Versailles and Louveciennes.
