Circa 1900 France Elegant printed velvet table mat celebrating autumn and dating from the Belle Epoque. Quite thick wool velvet with central reserve in ink or navy blue. On the edge, a solar fresco with chestnut branches and large-leaved chestnut bugs, in Art Nouveau tones of ocher yellow, orange and greenish. The plant theme of chestnut and chestnut trees is recurrent among Art Nouveau artists. Petrol blue knotted wool fringes on all four sides and French manufacturing numbers at an angle on the reverse. Remarkable piece for its color quality. A few rare "crumples" of the velvet, very barely visible. No stains or holes. Very good state of color and conservation. Dimensions: 188cm x 176cm. Fringes 12 cm.
