Bohemian Glass With Erotic Scene
Erotic drinking glass in Bohemian crystal. This slightly narrowing stemmed glass is composed of a finely engraved plum red overlay crystal revealing the translucent crystal. Fine gold threads highlight the neck and base of the glass. The translucent crystal presents an erotic decor. A soldier carrying his pack and pushing a cart in front of him where his disproportionate attribute rests. A woman greets him with her skirt raised. An inscription is engraved “der krieg ist aus ich komm nach haus” (the war is over, I am coming home). A play on words should be noted between the words “aus” and “haus”. The back of the overlay glass reveals a fine decoration of floral friezes.
