"Officer's Court Sword - France - End Of The 18th Century"
OFFICER'S COURT Sword
France, late 18th century
Silver and steel
Length: 104; Blade length: 88 cm

The silver spindle, pommel, single-branch hilt and shell are finely decorated with a series of fillets of pearl stripes and friezes of diamond-tipped cabochons, punctuated by medallions of floral bouquets and flowers.
Marked "R5" on the heel of the steel blade with a median groove, which retains traces of engraving including "Maria Benedicte" and "Portugal" in capital letters.
