Wonderful service of cut crystal glasses from the Cristallerie du Val-Saint-Lambert in Belgium. This is the rare Nestor model in “tortoiseshell and olive” size, a more complex size than the more common “Hamlet” size and therefore more widespread. Our model is richly carved with a frieze of horizontal scales, olives in the vertical direction and two circular threads deeply engraved at the base of the rim. Several delicate threads in height add to the ornamentation of the rim. All on a leg cut with flat ribs and a smooth foot. It consists of: - 10 water glasses Height: 18.4 cm Weight of one glass: 275 g - 12 red wine glasses Height: 15 cm Weight of one glass: 160 g - 10 white wine glasses Height: 13.9 cm Weight of a glass: 130 g and a carafe and its stopper Height: 36.5 cm Weight: 1.100 kg No stamp. Dates from the first half of the 20th century before the Cristallerie stamped its pieces. Very beautiful and rich cut work and beautiful sound of the crystal. Very good state. Note that the bottom of the carafe has white halos, invisible when filled. Two champagne glasses of the same model are for sale in another of my advertisements.
