Born in 1841 in Vienne (Isère) died in 1892 in Grenoble. He attended the Crozant School and was at the origin of the Duphinoise School. Very well known for his mountain landscapes visible at the Museums of Grenoble and Chambéry but also made drawings of torrents of which here is a fine example in the spirit of his master Jean Achard.
