Important Trumeau In Golden Wood, Louis XVI Period – Late 18th Century
This important lacquered wooden trumeau, cream color with gold moldings, features an oil painting on wood of musicians and dancers in a country setting. Richly molded, notably with acanthus crowns and rosettes, this trumeau has a rear mirror in the lower part. The discreet pediment has a frieze of battlements. With high historical and aesthetic value, trumeaux still have a bright future ahead of them, they have represented for several centuries a charming and warm way to decorate a section of wall.
