Born in Messina on 25 November 1828, he is famous for the painting "The Sacrifice of the Camiciotti" (1885). The artist, supported by the Bourbon Senate of Messina in his studies at the Accademia di San Luca in Rome and by the municipal council headed by Mayor Cianciafara during his career, also took part in the political life of Messina, as a member of the art commission for the Great Cemetery of Messina, together with Camillo Beccalli, in the 1870s. His studio was located in via Boccetta.
