Small 18th Century Bed Warmer, From 2 Brass, Engraved, Northern Italy

Charming bed warmer, Northern Italy, red copper body with a convex bottom, in which embers were placed, is hammered and decorated of engraving : acanthus leaves on amati background, on each side fasteners are fit for brass handle, that allows item to be transported on end of a wooden steck. Hinged lid and iron latch, the top of cover is meticulously pierced of a decoration: rosettes and flames, topped with a brass “spider” centered by a turned button, which prevented the bed sheets from being in contact with the embers .
It's a lovely piece of work, quite rare to find with its beautiful and powerful rims.
Dating: 18th century Northern Italy, or Nice.
Condition: good, note normal wear, and old restorations barely visible in the pierced lace of the cover.
Dimensions: 15cm x 15cm.
