Port Of Concarneau By Guy Pennamen (1932-2022)

Lively Breton port of Concarneau, made of small touches placed in light and shadow which particularly shows here all the pictorial mastery of Guy Pennamen. Born in Quimperlé in 1932, Guy Pennamen spent almost his entire life in Concarneau, the “closed city”, where he divided his time between his personal paintings and those of the greatest Breton painters which he exhibited in his own gallery. This painter in love with the Breton coasts, translates through this painting, his taste for the sea, his town of Concarneau but also for the light it emits. There, he likes to transcribe the scene and the animation of this port, these elegant boats, the passers-by and the peaceful atmosphere. Guy Penenamen (1932-2022) is a former student of Godeby, former student of fine arts of Quimper, former student graduated and medalist of the Institute of Tours, silver medalist of arts sciences and letters of Paris, vermeil cross of the merit of the French dedication, expert of the marine painter Maurice Menardeau (1897-1977). He exhibited and won numerous prizes in various exhibitions in France, mainly in Brittany, Pays de la Loire and central France. His works have been put up for sale at public auction more than 200 times, listed and highly rated in Akoun and Artprice. This oil on canvas is signed lower right by Guy Pennamen, Breton painter.
