Very good condition for this terracotta sculpture by BOURAINE representing a naked woman lying in one hand. This terracotta has been waxed, this does not detract from its charm and brings out all the details. A date (23.8.45) is engraved below Length: 59 cm width: 15.5 cm height: 26 cm Marcel André Bouraine (1886-1948) was a French sculptor born in Pontoise. He studied sculpture under the direction of Joseph-Alexandre Falguière. He exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries in 1922. Bouraine revealed himself in 1925 as one of the most representative sculptors of Art Deco. In 1928, he collaborated with Gabriel Argy-Rousseau, who commissioned several sculptures from him, as well as Pierre Le Faguays.
